A Midsummer Night's Dream (c.1595-96) is one of Shakespeare's most popular comedies. The play is set in Athens, and consists of plots that revolve around marriage of the main characters with an elaborate subplot involving conflicts among four lovers. The characters often find themselves in a forest with fairies and humorously confused situations.
