SIGNED/INSCRIBED by ARTIST-ILLUSTRATORS with ORIGINAL SKETCHES of ROBOTS. On the half title page there are the autographs and sketches by some of the key artists associated with the film. Signers include Peter de Sève, Vincent Nguyen, Michael Knapp, Dice Tsutsumi, and Daniel Lopez Munoz.
Laid in loose is also an illustrated bookplate by William Joyce, one of the creators of the movie and an Oscar winning animation director. The bookplate was provided by Bud Plant when the book was first published.
Robots was a highly successful 2005 American computer-animated science fiction adventure comedy film produced by Blue Sky Studios and distributed by 20th Century Fox.
Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times gave the film three and a half stars out of four, stating that "this is a movie that is a joy to behold entirely apart from what it is about. It looks happy, and, more to the point, it looks harmonious."
It was directed by Chris Wedge, co-directed by Carlos Saldanha, and produced by Jerry Davis, William Joyce, and John C. Donkin, written by David Lindsay-Abaire, Lowell Ganz, and Babaloo Mandel, based on a story by Lindsay-Abaire, Ron Mita, and Jim McClain, stars the voices of Ewan McGregor, Halle Berry, Greg Kinnear, Mel Brooks, Amanda Bynes, Drew Carey and Robin Williams, and features music by John Powell.
