A SCARCE collection of attractive glossy photos of famous Niagara Falls.
For dating purposes the last date mentioned in the Guide is September 15, 1889. The Canadian Reservation still retains the name "Queen Victoria," who died in January, 1901.
Solid copy with some soil, discoloration to covers, and external wear. All glossy B&W plates of Niagara Falls and environs are in Fine condition without marks or foxing. (The photographic process called "black and white" printing tends toward brown tints somewhat like older Ambrotypes.)
The printed Guide has been printed on thin paper that is uniformly age-toned and tender. Though the Guide is supposed to be 44 pp, it lacks the last 4 pp. identifying "Places of Interest" and the "Distance Table."
