Hailed as a masterpiece whenfirst published in 1921, Three Soldiers is a gripping exploration of Army privates (a former cleark, farm boy, and Harvard grad) during World War I. Each experiences fear and violence, regimentation and rebellion, desertion and violence, as a result of the dehumanizing effects of war.
