London: The Hogarth Press, 1959. First Edition. Cloth. 8vo, blue cloth with gold lettering on spine, archival mylar-protected mauve lettered dust jacket (unclipped), 248 pages. Near Fine / Near Fine. Item #5490
Important "first" study of the major (though too often neglected) novelist "Henry Green" (born Henry V. Yorke: 1905 - 1973). He was an English author best remembered for the novels Party Going, Living and Loving. A friend and classmate of Anthony Powell and friendly rival of Evelyn Waugh, Green published a total of nine novels between 1926 and 1952.
Tight, clean, unannotated first edition of this study in slightly faded cloth and a near flawless dust jacket (not price-clipped; faded). Very faint traces of foxing affecting endpapers and page edges.
Price: $35.00
