Earl Derr Biggers (1884 – 1933) was an American novelist and playwright. He is remembered primarily for his novels featuring Chinese American detective Charlie Chan, from which popular films were made. This is second in the Charlie Chan series of novels published in 1926. In THE CHINESE PARROT, Chan travels from Hawaii to California and solves a crime whose exposure is hastened by the death of a parrot.

VRY SCARCE in a bright, though somewhat fragile dust jacket with some rubbing and minor chipping to its edges. Tight, unannotated copy with moderate uniform age-toning. No remainder markings.

G&D typically reprinted best-sellers in or near their first printings and often recycled the latter's plates to produce "cheap" editions that were often read-to-pieces.

Price: $95.00
