John Edgell Rickword, MC (1898 – 1982) was an English poet, critic, journalist, and literary editor. He became one of the leading communist intellectuals active in the 1930s. He was actively associated with the Mandrake Press, and radical British writers and thinkers such as Roy Fuller, Charles Hobday, and Jack Lindsay--with whom he co-edited The Handbook of Freedom.
