William Makepeace Thackeray (1811 – 1863) was a prominent British novelist and author. He is known for his satirical works, particularly Vanity Fair, a panoramic portrait of English society.

VERY GOOD PLUS CONDITION: internally bright, clean, secure and externally very clean with slight rubbing and bending at corners. Small blindstamped "B" ownership seal on lowerright margin of p.19. Cruikshank engraving facing p.83; 2nd occurance of p."117" actually [119]. Two pages once dogeared; now straightened. Binding very slightly cocked.
