The Patchwork Girl of Oz by L. Frank Baum is the seventh in the Oz series. Characters include the Woozy [imprinted on spine], Ojo "the Unlucky", Unc Nunkie, Dr. Pipt, Scraps (the Patchwork Girl), and others. The book was first published on July 1, 1913, with illustrations by John R. Neill. Baum adapted the book for a film in 1914 via his "Oz Film Manufacturing Company."

L. F. Baum (1856 – 1919) was a bestselling American author famous for his children's books, particularly The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its sequels. He wrote a total of 14 novels in the Oz series, plus 41 other novels, 83 short stories, over 200 poems, and at least 42 scripts.

GOOD CONDITION. Cloth is firm though rather worn with some scuffs and soil. Considerable wear to top and bottom of spine with faded images and lettering on backstrip. Publisher's imprint at bottom of spine is unreadable. Pages are lightly age-toned with the occasional finger smudge or light stain, though without children's scribbles. Color & B&W plates retain bright colors and black lettering and are without foxing. No previous owners' names.

First 1913 Edition printed in Secondary Tan Binding. The Woozie printed on the spine is worn away though retains hints of red tinting and dark green. "CHAP. THREE" on p.35 no longer overlaps; no ads following half title. No ads for later OZ volumes. Printed on slightly heavier stock paper resulting in 1 3/8" depth. Hanff, Greene, et al, Bibliographia OZiana, revised & expanded, pp.64-66.
