Gaius Suetonius Tranquillus (c.69 - 122 AD), commonly known as Suetonius was a Roman historian who wrote during the early Roman Empire. His most important surviving work--De Vita Caesarum--is a collective biography of twelve Roman emperors, from Julius Caesar to Domitian.

Illustrator Salvatore Fiume (1915 – 1997) was an important and widely commissioned Italian painter, sculptor, architect, writer and stage designer. He has SIGNED this edition as has its distinguished printer, Giovanni Mardersteig.
