Hubert Shuptrine (1936-2006) was a distinguished American watercolorist who concentrated on portraits (he called "realizations") that were often created in his native South. His nationally recognized watercolors, lithographs, and oils are in over 30 leading museums and institutions. Sometimes thought of as the Southern Wyeth, his last watercolors were created c.1970.
