Herman Wouk (1915-2019) was an American author whose best-selling 1951 novel THE CAINE MUTINY won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. It subsequently became a broadway play and memorable Hollywood film starring Humphrey Bogart as Captain Queeg. Wouk's subsequent major works include The Winds of War and War and Remembrance, historical novels about World War II.
