The the copyright page gives a date for the first edition of 1937, and Toledano's Modern Library guide indicates that the pictorial front of the dj is typical of the 1930's [e.e., 1937ff.]; more importantly, the dj's rear panel was created from 1954-60 (pp. 118-19, 133, *170, *178). We thus date this copy to the later 1950's.
