Rev. Joseph Holt Ingraham (1809 – 1860) from Maine became a seaman; then teacher of languages who turned author of adventure stories; then three religious epistolary novels as an Episcopal priest (from 1852).
THE THRONE OF DAVID tells a biblical and especially Davidic-Jesus' typology through 18 letters. Rev. Ingraham had previously published The Prince of the House of David (1855). Roberts Brothers published their first edition of our book in 1860.
