Sir P[elham] G[renville] Wodehouse KBE (1881 – 1975) was a beloved English author who remains one of the most widely read humorists of the 20th century. Some of his favorite characters include the jolly gentleman of leisure, Bertie Wooster and his sagacious valet Jeeves; the immaculate and loquacious Psmith; Lord Emsworth and the Blandings Castle set; the Oldest Member, with stories about golf; and Mr Mulliner.

Editor Ogden Nash (1902–1971) was a highly popular American poet best known for effusions of light verse and splendid sense of humor.
