Ernest Hemingway (1899 – 1961) was a prominent American novelist, short story writer, and journalist. His economical style, life of adventure, and public image influenced his and later generations. Hemingway won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954. He published seven novels, six short story collections, and two non-fiction works. Many are classics of American literature.
