Theodore Roosevelt III (1887 –1944), known as Theodore Roosevelt Jr., was an American government, business, and military leader. He was the eldest son of President Theodore Roosevelt and First Lady Edith Roosevelt. Roosevelt is known for his World War II service, including the directing of troops at Utah Beach during the Normandy landings.
The following month, TR III died in France of a heart attack; at the time of his death, he had been recommended for the Distinguished Service Cross. The recommendation was subsequently upgraded, and Roosevelt became a posthumous recipient of the Medal of Honor.
Condition: Advance Publisher's First Edition with stamp on front cover of dust jacket stating "Released Price / Sept. 6 1929 $2.50." Tight, internally clean copy with unsullied photos; gilt lettering has faded and there is slight rubbing to the cloth's edges; light uniform age-toning to pages. Clean and unclipped dust jacket has small chips at the head and foot of its spine and corners.
SCARCE in such a tight, clean copy with superior dj that was published just as the stock market collapsed and Great Depression began.
