Early and quite thorough biography of Dickens in an attractive decorative binding. Published a couple of months after the great author's death. Contains several uncollected writings (e.g., the Mudfog Papers) and Dickens' will.
Overall, a somewhat better than average copy of this important edition.
End caps of spine and cover have some wear; gilt somewhat dull; binding tight and pages in generally very good condition though slightly age-toned with slight staining on the upper inner margin (~ 3/4") of several early pages.
