Author Juliet Dymoke de Schanschieff, (1919 - 2001) born at Enfield, Middlesex. (Possibly related to a distinguished 14th century British family who have held the manor of Scrivelsby in Lincolnshire to the present-.)

Dymoke wrote several historical romances set in early Britain (e.g., the Conqueror Series covering Normans and the early Scotland of MacBeth; a 6-novel series on the Plantagenets), plus 27 other historically-based books for young people and adults.

During the Second World War, she worked for The Canadian Army Medical Records and married Hugo de Schanschieff, a gunner in he RAF. She also began writing and preparing scripts for film companies. She traveled widely and conducted research to ensure the authenticity of her dramatic historical recreations.

Clean, tight copy in a superior dj with light foxing on some pages. Interesting subject touching on Jesuit influences on Shakespeare.
