The distinguished author was a Q.C. in South Africa. After serving in the ranks of the First South African Division in the Abyssinian and North African campaigns, he was commissioned in 1942. His first novel, Let The Day Perish (1952), an evocative novel about the "Colour bar," was then often reprinted.

SIGNED and in remarkable condition (VG+/NF) in a NF pictorial dust jacket. This SIGNED copy has a solid text block and generally bright text with only the slightest age-toning. The cloth has some fading and a few spots, and there are a few very light and small smudges scattered on a few pages,
